Invite users & roles
Invite a teammate to your organization, understand admin vs. read-only access, and give agents portal access to their own statements.
You can give teammates access to your SplitRun organization, and give agents a portal to view their own statements. These are two different things: team members help run the account; agent portal access lets a rep see only their own pay.
Invite an admin
- Go to Settings → Users.
- In Invite Admin, enter a Name (optional) and Email (required).
- Click Create Invite. The person is added as an admin with full org access and gets an email with a sign-in link and temporary password — they can sign in immediately.
This card creates admins only — for giving a rep a login to their own statements, use agent portal access (below). A seat counter reads "4 of 5 admin seats used · 1 available"; only when seats run out does inviting prompt you to add a paid seat. There's a brief Undo window (about 10 seconds) right after inviting.
Roles and what they can do
The Team Members card groups everyone by role, with a colour-coded badge each — so who's an admin vs. an agent reads at a glance.
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Superadmin | SplitRun-level access across orgs. |
| Admin | Full access to this org — invite users, change configuration (data sources, deductions, agreements), run and lock/publish periods, change plan/billing, delete entities. |
| Agent | A portal login to view only their own finalized statements. |
| Viewer | View reports, and (depending on setup) upload files and run calculations, but cannot change configuration. Good for someone who runs the monthly numbers but shouldn't alter rates. |
Agent portal access
An agent login lets a rep see only their own finalized statements (never others', never work-in-progress, only periods you've published). An agent login is not an admin seat — inviting agents never touches your admin-seat limit.
Two ways to set it up:
- One at a time — on the agent's page, the Portal Access toggle, which uses the agent's single Email field. That email is also where their published statement is emailed.
- In bulk — the Agents section under Settings → Users lists every active agent with their portal state (Has login / Login off / No login). Multi-select and click Invite selected to give logins in one batch, instead of opening each agent's page. An agent with no email can't be selected — add one inline in that row (there's an email field with Save), and the row becomes selectable.
A practical setup
A common arrangement: one or two admins who configure the account, an optional read-only operator who runs each month and verifies, and portal access for reps who want to check their own pay. This matches how new accounts are typically brought up — an admin configures everything, then invites the person who'll verify and run it.
